St Johns Community to Sweep Away the Leaves

November 16, 2013

Wheel & Barrow Landscape will be joining efforts with the St. Johns community to sweep away the leaves! I am very excited about this opportunity to join forces with others in the community to invest a bit of sweat equity to keep downtown St. Johns looking sharp, safe, and inviting. In addition to cleaning up the leaves I very much look forward to meeting more of my neighbors and renewing acquaintances.

The leaf sweep is this coming Saturday November 16th from 9a to 12noon. This volunteer event was organized by Babs and Joe Adamski and they ask that leaf sweepers bring their gloves, a favorite leaf sweeping tool, i.e. blower, rake, scoop shovel or wheel barrow. It is recommended that you put your name on your tools to ensure they are returned to you. If you would like to participate meet in the plaza.

Wheel & Barrow Landscape will be sharing a pickup truck, rakes, scoop shovel, wheel barrows, and leafblower/vac. Several other local businesses have offered assistance as well. Josh Larsen of Red Bird Remodeling will also lend a truck and tools. The new coffee shop to the downtown, Fourth Estate Coffee House will serve as a warming place and be offering coffee and cocoa to volunteers. Thai Cottage has graciously agreed to offer lunch to those participating in the leaf sweep.

I am really happy to live and own a business in St Johns. It is a unique place with a thriving sense of community. The leaf sweep is a shining example of neighborhood pride and a great chance to get to know one another better!See you Saturday.
